In its fifth year, the Sino-German Dialogue Forum took place on the 22nd of September, in the city of Beijing, with this year’s event dedicated to the topic ‘Sustainable Urban Development: Infrastructure Solutions in Key Urban Sectors’.
The high-level conference brought together prominent Chinese and German policy makers with professionals, researchers, and finance experts, in order to share and discuss the innovative concepts, programs and solutions currently emerging from Sino-German cooperation in the field of sustainable urban development. Major themes included the opportunities and challenges associated with public transportation, waste water and solid waste management, and energy efficiency in cities. Furthermore, the conference explored financing options for sustainable urban infrastructure, and examples of Chinese and German best practice provided detailed case studies throughout.
The Sino-German Dialogue Forum is financed by funds of the German Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and organised in close cooperation with the Chinese Ministry of Finance (MoF).
